Interesting Blogs about Kuala Lumpur

If you are ever looking to get the inside scoop on a city, it is best to ask in-the-know locals, but if you are not keen on talking with them face-to-face (or afraid that the language barrier might hamper you), blogs are a good alternative. Posting up great stories on fantastic city sights both old and new, these passionate people are travellers too, which means they have the ultimate skinny for you on what exactly to explore and experience.

We have listed out some of our favourite bloggers who are dedicated to listing out Kuala Lumpur’s most excellent highlights – from new restaurant openings to great hotel reviews they give you their unadulterated take on things. P.S. if you are blogger we would love to hear from you too, so drop us a line and we’ll consider you for our listings.

Foodin'KL ★

We like Foodin'KL largely because of its simplicity. It chronicles popular bars and restaurants in the city and though there are a limited number of posts up at the moment (only 17 restaurant reviews to date), we expect great things out of this blog. The whole website has a retro feel to it, with limited pictures but short and snappy text.

Missus ★

Missus is a blog chronicling life of a 32 year old KL-lite life as she juggles between being married, managing her daughter and her undying love for shopping. Quirky and always entertaining, Missus is also a self-confessed teh tarik (pulled tea) and an avid traveller, having documented her travels to places such as Chiang Mai and Krabi in her blog. Missus also dabbles with cooking and baking in her spare time, lending newbie mommies more tips on how to become awesome mothers with little effort

Docgelo ★

Awarded the Best Expat Malaysia My Second Home Blog Award in 2012 and 2013 by the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia, Beyond Toxicity is a blog by Filipino expatriate, Angelo Santos, who lives in Penang. A medical educator by profession, his entries on his time in Malaysia started out as a way to keep in contact with his family (wife and son) back in the Philippines, and we love the personalised feel of each posting, which cover topics such as great places to visit in the country as well as best food tips.

Jipp's World ★

Jipp's World is a blog that follows the travel exploits of seasoned blogger Jipp, a Malaysian born and raised in Sabah. His posts are informative and filled with lots of clear, well-snapped photos, and topics run the gamut from visits to local places of interest to overseas trips like Tokyo, Japan.

Just Me, The Mrs ★

Staying true to its namesake, 'Just Me, The Mrs' is a blog about the life and times of a 'woman who wears many hats' as she puts it. Her blog topics cover a gamut of interests ranging from music and dancing to cooking and gardening. We like this blog for her honest opinions and the fact that she shares bits and pieces of her life with readers - her writing is simple and fun at times, or detailed and descriptive depending on the subject.
