About one km from the Petronas Twin Towers and little out of the public eye, Celestial Court restaurant is a long-time local favourite in the city’s dining scene. Set in the five-star Sheraton Imperial Hotel, it serves halal (pork-free) Cantonese food and its spacious and majestic surrounds are one of its greatest draws, with a palatial pagoda-style entryway, velvet upholstered chairs and plush red carpeting. Distinguished uniformed staff provide exquisite service and the old school menu features comforting traditional recipes with interesting twists.
More than just food, the kitchen constantly pushes the boundaries and everything on the menu works, but our favourite is the honey-spiced roasted rack of lamb with sweet bean in Mongolian sauce and sautéed sea tiger prawns with minced garlic and shallots in homemade chilli sauce.Read More...

Dynasty restaurant in Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel is a standout ambassador for non-halal Cantonese Chinese food in the city, and consistently popular. Something of a neighbourhood icon, in our opinion it is in the running for best roast suckling pig in the entire city.
Located along Jalan Ipoh, Dynasty Restaurant is a recommended dining place among a sea of restaurants in the city centre, and although the wait for a table can be long, the speedy service and dishes like succulent siu mai (minced pork dumplings) and chee cheong fun (rice noodle roll with shrimp and barbeque pork) speak for themselves. Never one to shirk on decadence, Heli Lounge Bar KL wows us in so many ways. A helicopter pad turned aeronautically-themed rooftop bar, its lower levels are home to a lounge restaurant which cleverly marries home-sweet-home familiarity with delightfully unpretentious luxurious surrounds. The food menu that leans towards classic western and while to this eatery feels like a party most nights, the food is certainly down-to-earth and comforting, with favourites like the grilled chicken, topped with sautéed mushroom sauce, priced at just RM30.90. Diners will find that local, seasonal bounty finds its way into dishes sometimes, adding extra depths of flavour to certain food menu items. The restaurant’s little-known status will make you feel like you are part of the super elite when you visit. Read More...

One of Kuala Lumpur’s best French fine-dining restaurants to date, La Vie En Rose is an intimate and classy restaurant overlooking the Bukit Nanas forest reserve that is great for a romantic date. During the weekends it gets busy but management still manages to keep things relaxed, making it seem a lot like a popular French bistro (especially at the bar area). Set in a converted mid-20th century bungalow along Jalan Raja Chulan it looks Parisian industrial chic with buffed concrete floors, white brick walls, chandeliers and white-tablecloth-covered tables. The restaurant’s open concept layout contributes to its breezy atmosphere and fun and flirty mood. Its location is very handy as there is a small road that links it to Changkat Bukit Bintang – the city’s premier dining and nightlife spot. Read More...

Mojo is a restaurant, bistro and sports bar housed in an 80-year-old pre-war building in Asian Heritage Row. Situated opposite Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur, the two-storey establishment offers a diverse selection of international and local cuisine, ranging from Italian, German and Spanish to Japanese, Malaysian and Thai fare. The restaurant’s friendly staff and laidback ambiance makes it a suitable place for romantic dinners and social gatherings.
Decor-wise, Mojo Restaurant & Bar Kuala Lumpur is a kitschy combination of retro portraits of American pop icons adorning the maroon-hued walls, comfy black and white seats, glittering chandeliers, and unobtrusive music playing in the background. During weekends, diners are treated to regular live performances by foreign and local acts, as well as DJs spinning R&B and retro tunes. Sports fans can also watch live sporting events shown via satellite TV, or play a round of pool and darts upstairs. Read More...
