    Mid Valley Megamall is a 4.5 million sqft lifestyle emporium comprising a mall, an office tower block, 30 signature offices and two hotels – the 646-rooom Cititel Midvalley and the 390-room Boulevard Hotel. Known to locals as the best shopping centre halfway between the city centre and the Klang Valley, it houses 430 stores spread across its five floors.

    It has five anchor tenants (Carrefour, Jusco, Golden Screen Cinemas, Metrojaya and Harvey Norman), and a variety of mid-range brands represented such as Voir, ELLE, Bonita, Romp and Sketchers.     One of the city’s trademark tourist hotspots, Kuala Lumpur’s Little India spans from Jalan Travers to Jalan Tun Sambanthan in Brickfields, just a ten-minute walk from Bangsar.     A quiet fixture and favourite haunt of Bangsar residents, Bangsar Shopping Centre is a neighbourhood mall spread across 322,000sqft with a portfolio of stores that includes international brands and high-end boutiques of local designers. Classy without being pretentious, fashion brands represented here include colonial era–inspired clothing label British India, Hush Puppies, Jim Thompson, Mori Pin, maternity, mom-and-baby specialist Mothercare and Thomas Chan.

    Also known as BSC to residents, BSC has been open since the early ‘90s, with well-stocked grocer Jason’s Food Hall, as its anchor tenant.     The Gardens Mall Kuala Lumpur is a shopping complex in Mid Valley with approximately 200 stores under its roof oriented towards high-end international labels such as Banana Republic, Coach, DKNY, Hermes and Michael Kors spread across its six floors. Understated and elegant, it is a mixed development project with four towers – a five-star hotel, two residential blocks and an office space.     Geared towards young, trendy urbanites, Publika is a neighbourhood strip mall in Solaris Dutamas, Sri Hartamas, just a ten-minute drive from Bangsar. The ultra artsy complex is designed in creative style – think, steel and glass art pieces hanging from the ceiling and geometric-shaped wire benches. Big name brands like MPH, B.I.G. Ben's Independent Grocer, ACE Hardware and British India are represented, but most people visit for the mall’s cool indie boutiques, novelty stores and restaurants.

    Spread across 110,000sqft of retail space, Bangsar Village is a boutique shopping centre that houses over 70 specialty stores mainly made up out of international fashion labels and quirky cafés. Opened in 2004, the twin buildings are connected via a sheltered pedestrian sky-bridge (accessible via the first floor), with neighbourhood supermarket, Village Grocer, as its anchor tenant.
