Where to Stay in Chow Kit

Editor's Guide to Recommended Hotels in Chow Kit

Chow Kit is an atmospheric, localised area of Kuala Lumpur city centre, filled with rows and rows of long-established retail outlets specialising in wholesale goods. While it is best known for its daily market, called Bundle Chow Kit by locals, Chow Kit also houses a number of prized local restaurants as well as sightseeing opportunities including Southeast Asia’s largest Sikh temple.

Accommodation options here are limited to mid-range and budget hotels, but this unassuming section of Kuala Lumpur is well worth a visit if you are travelling on a modest budget and looking to get a taste of local city life. Easily accessible via public transportation, the Chow Kit monorail station and Putra LRT station serve the area, putting you several stops away from the prominent KL districts such as Bukit Bintang, Chinatown KL, and KLCC.

What is 'Editor's Pick':
Editor’s Picks are the hotels we personally reviewed and liked the most, ones we recommend to our friends and family when they come to Kuala Lumpur and are looking for the best places to stay according to their budget or location preferences.

Recommended Mid Range Hotels in Chow Kit

For people want a full set of facilities but don’t expect perfection at every turn, these mid-range hotels are for you. Sure, you get a nice pool, room service, concierge, but the price is kept lower in different ways – for example, reduced selections at breakfast or slightly smaller guestrooms. The competition in Kuala Lumpur is so fierce that prices get reduced on five-star hotels pushing them into mid-range territory. But make no mistake, these are excellent hotels!
