Bridge Bar

Bridge Bar is an exclusive nightclub in KL suspended between the two blocks of G-Tower Hotel. Offering some of the best views in the city, one of the major highlights here is a glass platform that you can step on and take a thrilling downward view –an exhilarating experience you will not easily forget. Set 28 floors up, Bridge Bar imposes an RM50 cover charge (it is free entry for G-Tower Hotel guests), but this fee includes one drink and the stylish décor, refined vibe and top notch service makes it worth it. The view is not as striking as Luna Bar or Sky Bar (you can’t see KLCC or the Petronas Twin Towers) but it is still impressive. The atmosphere is refined but unpretentious, with friendly, efficient service. Read More...

Chynablack is a 1920s-style Oriental cocktail bar located along Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. Its unique selling point is the fact that it is a real feel-good bar with staff members who are friendly, jovial and will eagerly dance along when the music really gets going. Sister bar to The Hill in Damansara Heights, the atmosphere at Chynablack is fun – pure and simple. Continuously flashing neon lights and beer barrels used as tables give the place a ‘happening’ Los Angeles nightclub ambiance, but the interior design is chic and classy with suede-covered love seats, dark wooden shutters, Chinese lanterns, candelabra chandeliers and red leather booths. Marini’s on 57 is an exclusive Italian ristorante set on the 57th floor of Petronas Tower 3. Located in the heart of the KL city centre, it consists of a restaurant, bar and lounge. In the private elevator the atmosphere is hushed, but when you pass through the front doors the feel turns into one of refined elegance with the sounds of champagne glasses clinking and quiet chatter. The dining area décor is white with casual, modern furnishings: meanwhile, the bar has art deco furniture and neon lights, and the lounge has a Havana-esque feel with brown leather sofas in different sizes. Paintings from Italian artist, Rosalba Mangione hang on the walls, while floor-to-ceiling windows and a glass roof provide great views of KL. Read More...

Sultan’s Lounge

Easily exuding a glitzy and glamorous vibe, Sultan’s Lounge is a cocktail lounge in Mandarin Oriental Hotel KL. A favourite place for the who’s who of Kuala Lumpur to mix and mingle, due to its underground location in the basement of the hotel it has a hidden, mysterious feel. The colour scheme is primarily white but neon lights wash the place in pink, purple, blue and orange hues throughout the night. Designed by Stephane Dupoux (creator of hip restaurants such as Buddha Bar in New York), some say it looks like an Arabic desert prince’s tent but to us it looks ultra modern with polished wooden floors and sheer white flowing fabric hanging from the ceiling in fan-like fashion. Sky Bar

Sky Bar at Traders Hotels KL

Sky Bar is a glamorous cocktail lounge set on the 33rd floor of Traders Hotel KL. A local institution, this rooftop nightclub is quite possibly the coolest venue on KL’s nightlife scene – the place to see and be seen at. It is recommended not only for its good location and giddying views over the city, but also its excellent drinks. Airy and sexy, the centrepiece at Sky Bar is a pool that is bordered by ‘cabanas’ (large sunken alcoves with chaise longues) on one side, and a bar area with sofas and woven rattan high tables and bar stools on the other. Tate Bar

There are a couple of things that are unusual about Tate: the first is that its entrance has been purposely designed to be a little hard to find and the second is the suit of armour waiting to greet you the instant you step through said front door. But it is all pretty understandable once you get the concept behind this Intermark KL bar: the place has actually been done up in the style of a secret 1920s prohibition-era bar, so expect dim lighting, intimate seating areas and mismatched but masculine furnishings. The Pool

The Pool is a nightclub located along Jalan Ampang with a lovely open-air ambiance. Its biggest draw is its eponymous swimming pool which acts as a centrepiece at the club: above the water is a glass runway that is often used for fashion shows and product launches. It looks a lot like a 1960s Palm Springs resort. The interior design is a mix of elegance and laidback charm with the focus is mainly on the swimming pool. There are two sitting areas: on one side of the pool is the VIP section, which has white ‘leather’ furniture on fake green grass and a barbecue pit. Meanwhile, on the other side are high tables and chairs on dark wooden boarding and pendant lighting, making it feel like a beachside bar. Between these two seating zones, the vibe fluctuates between super exclusive and very relaxed on different nights. Read More...

Today it has grown to encompass six rooms, Aristo & Rooftop Garden, Barsonic, Main Room, Phuture, Terrace Bar and Velvet Underground.
