One-stop beauty centre

The flagship store, situated along Jalan Bukit Bintang, stocks almost the same supreme sampling selection of beauty products as its sister ventures around the world; another branch due to open in KLCC soon. Featuring more than 250 brands of cosmetic products as well as boasting an in-house label of beauty merchandise, the store offers cosmetic and beauty items that include makeup, skin care, fragrance, bath, body and hair products as well as hair and makeup tools.

One of the most profitable and popular chain stores in the world, Sephora is undoubtedly renowned due to its lifetime return policy. Though the KL store’s product line is probably only 30% of Sephora’s US counterparts, the cosmetics podium still draws in a healthy crowd each day.

While the store doesn’t carry the Bliss, First Aid Beauty, Kate Somerville, Shaveworks, Supergoop!, T3 and Temptu products, the one-stop beauty shop still manages to attract a steady clientele eager to snag just about everything the store has to offer. Though prices are a little high for most items, visitors say they simply can’t stop themselves from splurging when they visit the beauty emporium. 

A KL girl’s dream

The two-storey beauty emporium spans across approximately 10,000sqft and carries a mix of classic, trendy and up-and-coming beauty, makeup and fragrance brands. Brands include Urban Decay, Amazing Cosmetics, Urban Decay, Bare Minerals, Earth Organics, Korres, Soap + Glory, Ole Henriksen, Clarisonic, Mario Badescu, Boscia and Sephora’s own in-house brand – all of which were previously unavailable in Malaysia.

The beauty store retails a variety of merchandise ranging from affordable regular-sized slant tweezers to high-end hair styling tools. Noteworthy is the beauty store’s in-house collection of makeup brushes, lotions and lip balms.

Layout

The layout of the KL store is pretty straightforward – the front doors open up to a black-tiled interior where there are rows upon rows of beauty products on shelves. The wall towards the right of the door feature blown-up poster representations of beauty products such as tweezers and brushes as well as a helpful guide to the best ones for each individual.

One of the greatest things about the store is that you won’t run into pesky sales girls eager to cajole you into purchasing their products – at Sephora KL you’re free to wander the store, try out products and then pick up your desired items and head to the sales counter.

How to get to Sephora Kuala Lumpur

Sephora KL sits directly beside Starhill Gallery and Pavilion KL is just around the corner. The five-star JW Marriot is behind the cosmetics behemoth, so it comes as no surprise that visitors find it supremely easy to locate the complex. Sephora faces Jalan Gading and Jalan Bukit Bintang; nearby public transportation access includes the Bukit Bintang and Raja Chulan Monorail stations.
