Citrus is a simple by effective restaurant in Bangsar Village, with an all-encompassing menu of Eastern, Western and local dishes. Its interior embraces a chic modern concept, with muted green walls, white panelling showcasing artworks, and dimmed lighting, enhancing its compact premises. The actual restaurant is cosy yet does not feel cramped and has about 10 tables, with extra spaces outside at the mall area.
Open since 2009, Citrus is the place to visit if you want just a bit of everything, as it offers a wide variety of salads, pastas, noodles, pizzas, rice dishes, sandwiches, burgers and more. For Eastern flavours, try out their stellar chicken tikka salad - chunks of heavenly aromatic chicken mixed with greens and anchovy dressing, or citrus special aloo chat – an assorted salad with chick peas, onions and greens on a pastry bed topped with yoghurt and tamarind sauce.

Their signature dish, lamb briyani is easily large enough for two. The portion is big and the meat is tender, and when combined with the flavoursome rice it’s clear why this is the best seller of the restaurant. Another notable dish is the Philly cheese steak sandwich – a long Panini sub with generous servings of tender beef, cheese and mayo served with French fries and a side salad.
There is also a massive range of drinks here – options of hot and cold, and from fruit juices to selections coffees and teas. Specialties such as crushes (fruit blends with ice crushes) are favourites, but we recommend any of the lassi choices for something different. Dessert choices are aplenty, too, with cakes and delights such as crème brulee, chocolate brownies and fried banana with ice cream.

For early risers, Citrus has a dedicated breakfast menu consisting of local and western favourites, and also lunch sets that are changed every month. Prices are reasonable (this is, after all, Bangsar), with the Philly cheese steak sandwich at RM19.90 and crème brulee at RM11.90. Service is fast and friendly – the waiters accommodating, and the presence of the owner greeting the guests makes Citrus a very homey and laidback eatery.
Bangsar Village is situated in Jalan Telawi, in the middle of the affluent neighbourhood, Bangsar. To get to the shopping mall, disembark from the nearest LRT station (Bangsar) and take Myrapid KL bus number U87, heading towards Bangsar Park.
