Serious Kuala Lumpur fashionistas should hotfoot it directly to Jorya Weekend boutique. A Bangsar clothes store on Jalan Telawi 3, the shop’s interior design and clothing collection will remind you of sunlit beaches – the place looks that bright, colourful, airy and cheerful.
By no means a typical fashion experience, or a conventional Bangsar boutique, the clothes here have been designed for girls who are unafraid to show off their individual style with flair and conviction. Bright colours and bold styles are prominent and the selection is nothing if not eclectic.

Sporting a bohemian feel, the interior design of Jorya Weekend boutique is very funky and fashionable. Dressing rooms look like they are built-in striped beachside cabana-changing rooms, walls are painted banana-yellow, simple metal rails and white cupboards display tops, skirts, pants and dresses, and shoes are placed on the floor along the walls. Adding to the edge of the sharp fashions available is a hugely covetable range of accessories set on the cashier counter.
This bright, eye-catching store is not the kind of place you go to for office wear – unless of course you are the flamboyant fashionista who knows how to expertly temper brightly-coloured skirts, dresses and tops with monochrome pieces. If you have a love of primary colours, then come check this place out.
The designs are divided into three predominant lines. The majority of outfits at Jorya Weekend boutique are funky, forthright and in-style pieces that have been given subtle but bold touches (like a pumpkin-orange pleated dress with a heavy brass necklace threaded through its rounded neckline) to make them one of a kind.
Then there is a small selection of clothes that are very feminine in design, with floral prints, lace fabrics and modest hemlines featuring prominently, allowing the collection to steer the right side of enchanting. To counteract the cuteness, there is a small selection of spunky T-shirts that feature skull-and-crossbones designs. All of these styles combine to make the store welcoming and suitable for women looking for avant-garde fashions, vintage and romantic styles and casual wear.
