LA/PA Café is a cheerful and bright eatery with a diverse and hearty menu of Australian-inspired brunches and mains, home-baked desserts, cold-pressed juices, creamy milkshakes, and single origin coffee drinks, making it really stand out against the backdrop of Bangsar Baru’s otherwise lacklustre coffee shops.
Situated along Jalan Telawi, this neighbourhood café is a charming mix of rustic and contemporary, with plenty of potted plants, a full glass entrance, clean white tiles, filament light bulbs, light wooden tables and white chairs, hanging shelves, paintings on bare concrete walls, and a suspended steel and wooden rack filled with LA/PA glass bottles and tote bags.

LA/PA Café’s food menu is undoubtedly inspired by Australia’s diverse dining scene, with a number of intriguing and well-balanced dishes that are great for weekend brunches. Meat lovers will enjoy the Steak & Eggs (RM31.50), consisting of a succulent 200g sirloin steak, fried egg, assorted greens, garlic herb butter, and shallot sauce, while the clever mix of potato and sweet potato chips adds a hint of sweetness to the savoury ensemble.
Diners who prefer a more conventional breakfast can opt for the Good Ol’ Eggs &Toast (RM12), which comes with a choice of scrambled or fried eggs, a house-made baguette, avocado slices, market greens, a lemon wedge, and French Lescure butter. We highly recommend adding a side of smoked salmon (RM5) or beef bacon (RM3.50) if you’re feeling a tad more peckish than usual.
Aside from caffeine-loaded beverages, LA/PA Café also offers a wide selection of milkshakes made with quality ingredients such as premium Australian dairy, single-origin dark cocoa, almond tuiles, homemade granolas, and matcha green tea. Cold-pressed juices are also definitive standouts here – try the refreshing Sunshine (RM13), a blended concoction of orange juice and creamy yoghurt.
Despite being relatively new to the scene, LA/PA Café gets rather packed (and loud) during the weekends, so diners who prefer a tranquil setting are advised to head there early. To get to LA/PA Cafe from Kuala Lumpur City Centre, take the LRT train to the Bangsar stop and grab a taxi or take a 20-minute walk via Lorong Maarof.
