Luna Bar is a two-storey rooftop bar on the 34th floor of Pacific Regency Suites. One of the city’s best-known nightclubs, it offers 360° views of the city, including fantastic vistas of the Petronas Twin Towers. The place is divided into an al fresco lounge with a swimming pool and long bar on the lower level, while the top deck is a trendy indoor restaurant that overlooks the pool.
Just like Sky Bar at Traders Hotel KL, there is no overplayed theme here: the lower level has simple dark wood rattan chairs and chaise longues with white cushions that surround the pool. Meanwhile, the top deck has polished concrete floors that pair up well with modern red-and-white sofas, standing tables by the bar and warm lighting that creates a sophisticated mood.
Luna Bar takes advantage of its sky-high location with discreet background music, allowing for easy conversation and giving the place a relaxed, intimate atmosphere. The dress code leans towards smart casual with people who come to see and be seen, but the vibe never gets too pretentious.
Luna Bar serves the usual variety of beers, wines and spirits but the cocktails are really one of the main reasons to come for – we especially like Luna Bar’s signature cocktail, the Luna. A mixture of dark rum, Cointreau, blue Curacao and lychee liqueur, the sweet and fruity drink was served with longan fruit and sago and tasted very refreshing.

The breezy Luna Bar is both a restaurant and bar: the food menu ranges from appetisers, salads and soups to a la carte mains that you can enjoy poolside or at the indoor lounge. The food is good value – especially when you consider the club’s rooftop location.
We recommend the hearty Luna mixed grill, a platter of tender beef tenderloin, succulent lamb cutlets, homemade sausage and prawns. Also good is the chicken liver parfait, served with delicious grilled bread and onion jam – a unique and memorable dish.
Luna has a cover charge of RM50 after 23:30 during the weekends – but then again, considering the view, great cocktails and tasty food, it is well worth it.
Combining the relaxed air of an outdoor bar and the sophistication of an indoor lounge, with excellent rooftop views, Luna Bar is undoubtedly one of the city’s best nightclubs.
Located directly opposite Menara KL Tower, a stalwart on the city’s tourist scene, it is pretty easy to get to Luna Bar – simply hop on the monorail train to the Bukit Nanas station and take a 10-minute walk to Pacific Regency Hotel.
