  • Mandara Spa at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa

An Award-winning Balinese Spa in Petaling Jaya

    0

Mandara Spa, situated in Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa in Kuala Lumpur is an award-winning treatment centre that offers more than 30 types of Mandara aromatherapy massages, wraps, facials, scrubs and baths using pure and quality essential oils and ingredients. Perched on the highest peak of an 800-acre tropical resort, it is a ten-minute leisurely stroll via Level 5 of Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa.

Blending-in unobtrusively with its natural surroundings, Mandara Spa’s tranquil ambience is further enhanced by the exotic aromas of spices and essential oils, floral arrangements, soft lighting, dark wooden furnishings, soothing instrumental Balinese music playing in the background, and a scenic veranda that overlooks the resort’s lush greenery and turquoise lagoon.

  • Catering to singles and couples, the spa consists of double deluxe suites with a private bath, steam shower and relaxation area, single suites with private steam showers, single spa suites for the royal Thai massage treatments, a manicure and pedicure lounge area, and a spa boutique.

Upon arrival at the waiting area, guests are served with chilled peppermint-scented towels and aromatic ginger tea before an experienced therapist offers them a choice of different spices (for body scrubs) and essential oil blends (for massages) which will be utilised during the spa sessions.

We indulge in the 50-minute Balinese Massage treatment (RM195), which helps relieve tension, improve blood flow, reduce stress and improve muscular and lymphatic systems using various pressure techniques and Mandara Spa’s essential oils. Before we start, we are presented with four unique oil blends namely Island spice (clove, ginger and nutmeg oils), Harmony (mandarin, lavender and bergamot oils), Tranquillity (lavender, vetiver and cananga oils) and its signature Mandara (sandalwood, patchouli, cananga and ylang ylang oils).

We are then escorted by a Balinese therapist to the cosy and air-conditioned treatment room that’s equipped with a mirror, wardrobe, sink, seating area, and a massage bed. Our friendly and softly spoken staff has us feeling completely at ease as she applies just the right amount of pressure and essential oil to slowly ease the knots and tensions in our fatigued body, starting from feet to neck area. Needless to say, the results are instantaneous, leaving us feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated by the end of the session.

If you are looking for a pampering spa treatment, look no further than Mandara Spa at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa for its wide range of facial and body treatments, pure essential oils and spices, as well as highly-skilled Malaysian and Balinese therapists.
