Mojo Restaurant & Bar Kuala Lumpur

A Bistro, Restaurant and Sports Bar in Asian Heritage Row

Mojo have closed for business.

Mojo is a restaurant, bistro and sports bar housed in an 80-year-old pre-war building in Asian Heritage Row. Situated opposite Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur, the two-storey establishment offers a diverse selection of international and local cuisine, ranging from Italian, German and Spanish to Japanese, Malaysian and Thai fare. The restaurant’s friendly staff and laidback ambiance makes it a suitable place for romantic dinners and social gatherings.

Decor-wise, Mojo Restaurant & Bar Kuala Lumpur is a kitschy combination of retro portraits of American pop icons adorning the maroon-hued walls, comfy black and white seats, glittering chandeliers, and unobtrusive music playing in the background. During weekends, diners are treated to regular live performances by foreign and local acts, as well as DJs spinning R&B and retro tunes. Sports fans can also watch live sporting events shown via satellite TV, or play a round of pool and darts upstairs.

Mojo’s portions are pleasantly generous, and we love how each dish that’s served here has had as much attention given to its presentation as its preparation. Its signature lamb shank (RM42) served atop mashed potatoes is expertly prepared with a flavourful and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness while the teriyaki salmon (RM36) is a delightful combination of fresh salmon fillet that’s braised with homemade sauce, sautéed potato chunks, and crispy tempura vegetables.

Mojo Restaurant & Bar is also well-loved for its diverse dessert options such as its signature Granny Smith apple crumble with cinnamon, ice-cream and cardamom spice-scented panna cotta. However, our favourite is Mojo’s sinful chocolate lava (RM13) a rich, moist dark chocolate cake with hot, gooey chocolate in the centre and a generous scoop of vanilla ice-cream on top.

A popular watering hole in Asian Heritage Row, Mojo Restaurant & Bar also offers an extensive selection of beverages - alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike. A pint of draft Tiger costs RM16 while fresh fruit juices are priced between RM10 and RM13. For wine lovers, we recommend the Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir (RM218), an enticing palate of boysenberry, raspberry liquorish, and sweet spices that pairs well with Mojo’s smoked duck breast, grilled Portobello mushrooms, or a rack of venison.

A one-stop destination combining restaurant, pool lounge, live band, and nightclub, Mojo Restaurant & Bar Kuala Lumpur is a must-visit for its delicious, scrumptious food and affordably-priced alcoholic offerings.
