About me: Born and raised in Malaysia, I’m a small town girl currently living in Kuala Lumpur since 2007. Between 2014 and 2015, I’ve gone on seemingly endless trips to many beautiful cities around the world, including Melbourne, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Hoi An, and Bangkok. While Kuala Lumpur is a busy city that’s constantly changing, I’ve listed some of my go-to places to eat, drink, and see.
With so many cafes, restaurants, bistros, and such all over Kuala Lumpur, it’s definitely hard for me to name my absolute favourites. However, I would frequently dine at or bring visiting friends and relatives to these three restaurants.

Favourite Local Restaurants in KL
As a multicultural nation, Malaysia is blessed with an abundance of local delicacies, such as nasi dagang, nasi lemak, pan mee, roti canai, and banana leaf rice. These are my three favourite local restaurants in Kuala Lumpur, one of which also hails from my hometown of Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

Favourite Nightlife Spots in KL
When it comes to nightlife in Kuala Lumpur, I tend to stick to Spanish-themed bars that serve potent cocktails and tapas. Changkat Bukit Bintang may be popular, but you can find plenty of hidden gems within the Bangsar and Petaling Jaya areas.
Prior to my trip to Vietnam, I had very little exposure to the local cuisine apart from familiar names such as spring rolls and beef pho noodles. Needless to say, I’m now a huge fan of Vietnamese dishes, particularly xoi (sticky rice), bun thit nuong (grilled pork with rice vermicelli), and egg custard coffee. Here are some of my favourite restaurants in Vietnam.

Favourite Nightlife Spots in Vietnam
While most people love travelling to Vietnam for its dirt-cheap booze, that’s not the case for myself. My favourite nightlife spots are great for experiencing the local lifestyle (think drinking on plastic stools set right next to busy traffic), catching live music performances, and simply enjoying a great view of the city.

Favourite Attractions & Places in Vietnam
Aside from its delicious food and coffee, Vietnam’s expansive lakes, colourful parks, and heritage sites are some of the biggest highlights of my trip. If you despise crowds and traffic like I do, these places are definite must-visits in your travel itinerary.
