Polpetta Café is a family-owned establishment, situated within Petaling Jaya’s 10 Boulevard commercial centre, which specialises in delicious homemade meatballs and Italian comfort food. The charming interior is kept simple, with black wooden furniture, Tuscan red-hued walls, and warm lighting while the menu is presented with colourful chalk on a strip of blackboard-style wall.
Taking inspiration from The Meatball Shop in New York City, diners can customise their meatball meal according to their preference, being given a choice of chicken (RM13), beef (RM15) or mushroom meatballs (RM16), pasta, mashed potatoes, brown salad or rice for base, marinara, pesto or carbonara sauce, and parmesan cheese, nuts, beef bacon, roasted garlic or onions for toppings.

Made fresh daily, Polpetta Café’s tantalising Italian fare is as authentic as it gets, with its juicy beef meatballs with mashed potatoes, topped with fragrant pesto sauce and parmesan cheese. Meanwhile, diners with a healthy appetite for carbonara will delight in the chicken meatballs with spaghetti pasta, topped with cheesy cream and parmesan cheese.
Our personal favourite dish, however, is Polpetta’s unique mushroom meatballs served with classic tomato sauce, brown rice and nuts. Guilt-free yet flavourful, we love how this ‘meat-free’ meatball melts easily in the mouth with a surprisingly meat-like texture that complements the crunchy nuts and fragrant rice.

Another must-try is the crispy eggplant toasties (RM8) topped with tomato sauce and cheese. Crispy on the outside yet succulent on the inside, it is served piping hot without being too greasy - a great comfort food for laidback weekends. Drinks-wise, Polpetta Café serves the usual array of reasonably-priced coffee and tea, including green tea latte (RM8), long black (RM7), and flat white (RM9).
Overall, Polpetta Café’s homely ambience and satisfying food-and-beverage menu makes it a great hangout spot in Petaling Jaya. It gets rather packed in the afternoon, so diners who prefer a quieter setting are advised to visit this café after lunch hours. Easily accessible via taxi, the café is a 15-minute drive from KL Sentral train station while One World Hotel is just five minutes away.
