Pork-Free Brunch at Solaris Mont Kiara

Wanderlust Café Kuala Lumpur is a minimalistic yet lively brunch eatery in Solaris Mont Kiara, with a constantly evolving menu of hearty fusion meals, freshly-brewed coffee and tea, as well as unique dessert options. The interior of the travel-themed cafe is kept simple and cosy, with an open coffee bar, wooden furnishing, blue and white walls, paper planes, and a glittering glass bottle chandelier as a centerpiece.

Serving brunch from 11:00 till 18:00 and dinner from 18:00 onwards, Wanderlust Café Kuala Lumpur’s diverse pork-free offerings consist of fresh ingredients such as free-range eggs, tropical fruits, and kitchen-made pasta and tomato chutney.

Great for weekend hangovers, we highly recommend Mushrooms (RM22), a simple yet well-crafted dish with plenty of sautéed mushrooms, baby spinach, multigrain toast, grilled tomato, and poached eggs topped with apple cider hollandaise. Light yet flavoursome, we love how the fragrant mushrooms complement the tangy hollandaise sauce and perfectly poached eggs.

Meanwhile, Wanderlust Big Breakfast (RM28) is a satisfying ensemble of scrambled eggs, chicken bratwurst, turkey bacon, sautéed mushrooms, baked beans, crispy hash browns, and multigrain toast - an ideal dish if you have healthy appetite. Save some room for Gua Bao (RM22), Wanderlust Cafe’s take on the Taiwanese snack which comes in four deep-fried and steamed buns stuffed with chicken, served in a traditional bamboo steamer. Substituting pork belly with juicy chicken meat that’s marinated with black olives, raisins, lemons and herbs, the resulting flavour is decidedly local and similar to chicken satay.

While caffeine lovers can find the usual array of coffee and tea - such as flat white (RM12), cappuccino (RM10), and English breakfast (RM10) -there’s also a selection of fresh juices and smoothies available at Wanderlust Café Kuala Lumpur. Using only low fat yogurt, The Green Power (RM15) is a blend of banana, spinach, and green apple while Lower the Beet (RM15) is a sweeter variant that’s made with beetroot, watermelon, carrot, apple, and lemon.

Wanderlust Café Kuala Lumpur is accessible within a 15-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur city centre. Alternatively, take the RapidKL bus #U83 from KL Sentral Station.
