Best Places to Eat in Putrajaya

Many of the best places to eat in Putrajaya are conveniently located within the district’s numerous five-star hotels and resorts, where you can enjoy a satisfying array of Malaysian, Chinese, Indian and international fare throughout the day. Best of all, most dishes are cooked to order, so you can easily have them customised to suit your personal taste and dietary needs.

There is also a wide range of international restaurants in Putrajaya, particularly Middle Eastern eateries that offer authentic hummus, kabsa lamb and chicken, shish taouk (marinated chicken shish kebab) and freshly-baked Arabian breads. Alternatively, you can find fast food joints, restaurants and coffee chains under one roof in shopping malls like IOI City Mall and Alamanda Putrajaya.

Restaurants & Dining in Putrajaya

Al-Mukalla Restaurant

Al-Mukalla Restaurant specialises in authentic Yemeni cuisine, but you can also find the usual array of Arabian fare such as kebabs, breads and rice dishes. Set within Cyberjaya, locals often frequent this restaurant for its salta (RM13) and fahsa (RM15). Best paired with rice, the former is a fenugreek-flavoured meat stew while the latter, served in a clay pot, comprises lamb in a rich stew made with hulba (fenugreek), tomato, potato, carrot, jalapeno and green chilli. For a lighter meal, we highly recommend foul (RM8) or mashed fava beans with special herbs, olive oil, garlic, onions and lemon juice for vegetarians. For meat-eaters, arais (RM13) is minced lamb stuffed into Lebanese bread. Pair your meals with the sweet mint red tea (RM2) or spiced milk tea (RM3), both of which are traditionally enjoyed by Yemenis across the world.

Balqis Restaurant

Balqis Restaurant is well-frequented by locals for its authentic Middle Eastern fare and extensive range of pizzas, pastas and sizzling dishes. Featuring contemporary décor, wooden furnishing and floor-to-ceiling windows, diners can enjoy their meal with panoramic views of Putrajaya Lake and Iron Mosque (also called Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque). Food-wise, we highly recommend starting with the classic hummus (RM8) with bread before digging in to its house speciality, kabsa chicken (RM13 for quarter, RM20 for half-chicken), which comes with fragrant rice. The restaurant’s freshly backed pies and pizzas are must-tries as well – try the special mix pizza (RM15 for 9-inch, RM20 for 11-inch), topped with a sweet and savoury combo of labna (yogurt cheese), cheese and honey.

B’s All Day Dining

B’s All Day Dining restaurant in Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside Hotel impresses us with its culinary combinations of subtle and robust flavours. Spread out across a spacious corner lot, one of its highlights is the fact that the restaurant offers gorgeous views of the Putrajaya Lakeside through its floor-to-ceiling windows. Attuned to the elegance of the menu, B's All Day Dining has a sophisticated interior design: muted wall tones offset by dark wood furniture and red pendant lighting, with chrome, glass and steel fixtures, making it both understated and modern. We love the restaurant’s numerous seating options, too – from bar-style counters with high chairs and cosy diner booths, to private rooms for that high-powered corporate lunch.
