Kuala Lumpur Airport Train

The KLIA Ekspres train is one of the most convenient ways to travel between Kuala Lumpur city centre and its two major airports. This non-stop airport train is fully air-conditioned and comes fitted with plenty of comfortable seats, luggage storage compartments, and high-speed Wi-Fi.

Operating at 15-minute intervals during peak hours and 20-minute intervals during off-peak hours and Saturdays, the journey between the KL Sentral transport hub and KLIA takes about 28 minutes, reaching KLIA2 a further five minutes later. Do note that the first KLIA Ekspres train From KLIA, departs at 05:00 while the last train departs at 01:00, while trains from KL Sentral depart at 05:00 and 00:40, respectively.

If you’re planning on taking the train between Sundays and Fridays, do note that it can rather get packed from 06:00 until 09:00 and 16:00 until 22:00. KLIA Espres trains are less busy between 05:00 and 06:00, 09:00 and 16:00, and 22:00 until 00:00. After midnight, all trains operate at 30-minute intervals.

The KLIA Ekspres train station at KLIA is located on Level 1, while the station at KLIA2 can be found within the Gateway@KLIA2 Shopping Mall. Tickets can be purchased at the main counter or using ticketing kiosks located throughout both airports.

A one-way trip will cost RM55 while a round-trip ticket is RM100. Once you have arrived in KL Sentral, it is very convenient to hop on a KTM Komuter, LRT, Monorail or even taxi, to get to your chosen destination. KLIA Express also offers a door-to-door airport transfer service for those who love travelling in style. Priced at RM155, this VIP service includes a meet-and-greet service within the Baggage Reclaim Hall, a porter accompanying you on-board the KLIA Ekspres to KL Sentral, and an executive limousine ride to your destination.

For added convenience, major airlines such as Malaysia Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways, and Malindo Air offer flight check-in services if you’re departing from KL Sentral. You only need to purchase your train ticket and make your way to a counter at the KLIA Ekspres Departure Hall, which is located within the KL City Air Terminal. There, you’ll be able to check in your luggage and collect your flight boarding pass, while your luggage will be tagged to your destination and automatically transferred to your flight.
