APW Bangsar

Stylish Dining & Entertainment Hub in Bangsar

APW Bangsar is an industrial-themed event space that’s converted from a defunct commercial printing factory, where you can enjoy a wide range of activities and dining options, as well as themed events throughout the year. Set along Jalan Riong, it attracts a steady crowd of locals and expats in Kuala Lumpur during weekends and holidays.

Visitors can enjoy plenty of things to do here, including weekend flea markets, free yoga classes, networking events, talks, and workshops. There’s also a retro-style barbershop within the premise, called 52 Barbers. Prices start from RM60 for a bespoke gentlemen cut and RM40 for children, while beard trims and shaves cost RM20 upwards. As it accommodates two people at a time, bookings are highly recommended even though walk-ins are accepted here.

Offices are available for rent at collaborative workspace Uppercase at APW Bangar, which is located on the second floor. Monthly rates are priced at RM450, which grants you five days of desk usage, high-speed internet, as well as discounts for onsite dining venues.

Where and What to Eat at APW Bangsar

A variety of cuisine can be found at APW Bangsar, from Japanese and Malaysian fusion fare to Italian pizzas and Australian-style brunches. It also houses a Singaporean speciality coffee bar, named PULP by Papa Palheta. Serving quality brewed coffee, home baked sweet and savoury pastries, as well as western dishes, it draws a steady weekend crowd of coffee enthusiasts and trendy youths.

Another highly popular café here is Breakfast Thieves Kuala Lumpur, which is the sister outlet of a popular Melbourne-based café of the same name. Fitted with pale wooden furnishing, white tiles and concrete flooring, this glasshouse-like dining space is known for its all-day brunch dishes such as The Legend (spicy baked eggs with beef salami) and Mr. Terry Benedict (braised beef cheek, poached eggs, and burnt butter hollandaise on toast).

For dinner, we highly recommend Kaiju Company Kuala Lumpur. Easily distinguished by the 30-metre dragon structure hanging from the ceiling, it’s one of the most popular dining venues amongst Bangsar’s expat community thanks to its innovative Thai-Japanese dishes such as Tom Yum Udon (RM28), Yoyoki Tuna Tataki (RM28), and Thonglor Fried Chicken (RM22).

As APW Bangsar is set within a quiet residential area, it can be slightly challenging to make your way here if you’re relying on public transport to get around KL - the closest light rail transit station, Bangsar is about 10 minutes away on foot.
